Continuous as the stars that shine and twinkle
on the Milky Way
- Wordsworth

You have the dress. You have a vision of what you would look like on the day. The headpiece and jewellery you wear on the day are the finishing touches. So how do you choose the pieces for your ensemble to add that touch of star quality?

The first question you should ask yourself is the overall look you are trying to achieve. Do you envision a modern, pared-down look or an opulent and elaborate style? Some ideas might be:

  • Antique finishes – such as a black nickel, burnished copper or antique gold – add a touch of vintage to a 1920s flapper inspired dress.
  • Silver detailing on a headpiece adds a modern appeal to a slimline, fishtail dress.

Secondly, your headpiece and accessories should complement with your dress. The right accessories serve to enhance, and not compete with the dress.

  • If the bodice of your dress features elaborate beading or embroidery, consider opting for a bare neck. Accessorise with a sparkly pair of chandelier earrings instead.
  • If you are having a themed wedding, why not consider accessories that reflect the theme? A necklace embellished with Chinese silk knots, or a headpiece accented with cloisonne beads, adds the perfect finishing touch for an Oriental theme. A headpiece featuring a frangipani, mother of pearl or a sea shell is the perfect way of incorporating the sea in your ensemble for a beach wedding.

Finally, be sparing with accessories. Adopt the less is more mantra - one ‘stand out' piece of accessory; be it a headpiece, a pair of earrings or a necklace; may be enough to convey the vision you are trying to create.

Serenida would be happy to work with you to turn your vision into reality.
